Welcome to the Chappel & Wakes Colne Cricket Club website
The club has now been playing at 'The Hobbies' for 23 years having played all our games away from home for several years after losing the home ground at Viaduct farm in Chappel. The club is currently thriving with 3 senior teams all being boosted by our colts who have contributed greatly to the teams. The 1st and 2nd team play in the PDQ Cars North Essex Cricket League. the 1st team in Division 1 and the 2nd team in Division 4. The 3rd team is a friendly team which comprises colts and anybody else that would like to play a game of cricket.
We also have a variety of colts of all different ages starting from 8 up to 14/15 year olds. Some of the age ranges play in the Colchester & District Youth Cricket League. Colts practice is on a Monday night commencing from the first week in May to early September for a 6pm start.
Tuesday nights are club nights when all players are welcome to practice in the nets and to do some fielding practice. This is when the weekend teams are selected.
We have a fully stocked bar for those people who just want to come up for a drink. Spectators are all very welcome!
We will try and keep you up to date with all the latest news and gossip during the 2009 season.
